In an interview, Soledad brushed aside comments that their engagement happened too fast.
"As events unfolded, it may seem fast but it was meant to happen," she said.
Soledad was all smiles and was wearing her engagement ring during the ambush interview with reporters.
Romulo said a lot of people were surprised by their announcement because they do not understand the depth of his relationship with Shalani.
"Kaya nga kami engaged dahil we're perfect for each other," he said.
The couple were scene-stealers during the birthday party of Sen. Ramon "Bong" Revilla Jr. held Sunday night. The 2 thanked President Aquino for wishing them a happy marriage.
