Nora Aunor is set to return to the Philippines from the United States on Wednesday.Her family and close friends held a "despedida" party for Aunor in Glendale, California.
She has stayed in the US away from the limelight for 8 years.
Aunor will reportedly star in an upcoming historical film but she said the movie is not the reason for her homecoming.
"Actually kaya ako babalik sa Pilipinas dahil sa kapatid ko at sa mga anak ko," she said. "Ayaw ko na sanang lumabas kung tutuusin. Hindi, walang biro, pero nakaka-miss din 'yong ginagawa mo noon dati bilang artista."
Aunor, however, disclosed that her voice is not completely back yet and she is still having a hard time to talk.
In March 2010, Aunor lost her "golden voice" after an alleged botched cosmetic procedure in Japan.
