Mercedes Cabral has finally broken her silence on the issue that she is the girlfriend of award-winning actor Coco Martin.In an interview on The Buzz, Cabral said she and Martin are just friends “Magkaibigan lang talaga kami ni Coco. Matagal na din kaming magkakilala,” said Cabral, voted Most Beautiful Actress at the 2008 Cannes Film Festival.
Martin worked with Cabral in award-winning indie films like "Serbis" and "Kinatay."
Cabral denied reports that Martin is always spotted visiting her.
"Kailan? Hindi. Kasi nagkikita lang kami kapag may events at parties si Direk Brillante Mendoza. Hindi talaga totooo. Actually nabasa ko ang rumor na 'yon, natawa lang ako," she said.
When asked if it was true that Martin invited her to an out of town trip, Cabral replied: "Sana nga pero hindi, hindi talaga."
In a separate interview, Martin echoed Cabral's denial stressing that he has no time for love since he is really busy with his showbiz commitments.
Currently, Martin is doing his first lead role project, "Minsan Lang Kita Iibigin."
Meanwhile, Cabral is also gearing for her first mainstream project via ABS-CBN's "Hiyas" with actor Zanjoe Marudo.
