Typhoon Chedeng will bring more rains to western parts of Luzon, the Visayas, and Metro Manila

PAGASA advised the public on Saturday to brace for more rains as the wet season has officially started in the country.

"Kasama sa criteria natin ay yung sunod-sunod na pag-uulan for three days at umaabot sa 25 ml ang rainfall," said PAGASA senior weather specialist Rene Paciente.

Residents in flood-prone areas in Metro Manila are also bracing for the rainy season.

Jocelyn Barrera, a resident of Malabon, said the family is ready to evacuate once a nearby river overflows.

"Kapag tumataas, bibitbitin ko na yung durabox namin, pupunta na lang kami sa may labasan," she said.

With the new schoolyear starting next week, parents and students also prepare for a wet start of classes.
