3 dead, 7 hurt in Barangay Kaytitinga Cavite vehicular accident

Three people were killed and 7 were injured when a cargo truck went wayward in Alfonso town Friday afternoon, police said.

Police Chief Inspector Egbert Tibayan identified the fatalities as bystander Enuario Rom, 68, a resident of Barangay Kaytitinga, Alfonso, Cavite; truck helpers Michael Lolor, 20 and Nick Dollete, 47, both residents of General Trias Cavite.

The inured were identified as Randy Suason, Nepthalie Guinipapa, Albert Aurelia, Lugie Basas, Eduardo Anselmo, Marvin Acuzar, and truck driver Robert Calaranan.

According to police reports, Calaran was driving a trailer truck towards Magallanes town when he lost control of the vehicle in Barangay Kaytitinga around 1:00 pm.

The truck first hit Rom, killing him instantly, before ramming 5 other vehicles.

Lolor and Dollete and 8 other truck helpers, who were riding on top of the truck, were thrown away during the impact.

Lolor and Dollete died while being treated at Dr. Poblete Memorial Hospital.

Calaran was brought to the Alfonso police station for investigation.
